Frequently Asked Questions

What is the process to update my service?
We fill out a merchant application including your business and banking information. Then we set up your terminal with settings that you need such as: tips, auto closing time, servers, pin debit cards, avs/cvv. You then receive your new terminal via UPS. The terminal is ready for use after you plug it into power.

* Your bank could stay the same or you could choose a different bank.
* We work with most of the POS systems and integration is usually done by the POS guys on their end.
* There is no downtime in processing transactions.
Will I have any downtime with taking cards?
No you won't. All terminals that we ship are programmed for your business, tested and only then shipped.
When you receive your new terminal, you can plug it in and start taking cards at any time of the day.
I have a contract that is up in one year. I have to wait until it's up, right?
Not quite. We can wait until your contract is up, or we can both get you out of the contract by paying the penalty to your provider. If our rates are substantially better, it is a great idea not to wait until your contract is up.
Our company reimburses $500 if you process $10,000 in your first full month with us.

* All contracts between companies are three years long (unless specified in the agreement) and cannot be self extended without your signature.
* The usual early termination penalty is up to $500 between all companies in the U.S.
* Loophole: Every provider will usually charge you $40 for each month if your account will be open but inactive, so technically this is the other way not to terminate your agreement and still move to a better company.
Can I reuse my terminal?
Yes, most of the time you can reuse your terminal. We will just download it with our company information. This download takes about thirty minutes and it could be done at your place of business.

* When switching POS systems, most of the times you can reuse your existing hardware with the new software you are purchasing.
What if I will have technical issues?
Our phone tech support works 24/7 and it is U.S. based. We also have technicians on the road including myself who will respond to trouble calls.
What if you will raise your rates on me?
Our company receives a fair percentage from your bill on a regular basis. It is in our best interest to provide you with good service that won't let you go. We monitor our clients' statements on a quarterly basis to prevent rate increases and adding miscellaneous fees by companies.
Why my credit card bill is so high anyway? What am I paying for?
The vast majority of your bill goes to the card issuing banks. They preset rates for each type of bank cards and these rates are captured when people pay with their cards at your business. Banks are regulated and can't heighten up rates at any time that they want. Those rates vary between 0.05% + .22 cents and 2.7% and .10 cents for each transaction.

A quite small percentage of 0.13% goes to Visa/MasterCard/Discover/Amex for their networks.
Merchant services companies also get a percentage by adding their negotiated rates with banks so it's important to pick a good reputable company.

* Unfortunately merchants pay for all of the rewards cards that are out there. All of those rewards at gas stations or flying miles automatically come out of your pocket when people use those cards.
